Parenting Therapy

For most people, becoming a parent is one of the most intense, meaningful, joyful and challenging times of their lives. There are changes in almost every aspect of one’s former life, one’s relationships, responsibilities, routines, finances, body and identity. The ‘learning curve’ with a new baby is steep and the stakes are high.

For a newborn, the first 3 years are a time of rapid physical growth and emotional development. The baby is learning about personal relationships and the world around. It is a time when the brain is laying down neurological foundations for life. Having a stable supportive environment with empathic and responsive care givers is critical to building a secure attachment style and sound mental health.

Therapy can help if you are struggling with the demands of parenthood while balancing your needs with those of your baby. I will offer you a supportive, non-judgemental space where together we can work out what is happening and how things can be improved.

I also have deep experience of working with clients experiencing issues around fertility and pregnancy.
